HERE TODAY, HERE TOMORROW
Colonel John Taylor fed the troops during the American Revolution. Local farmers brought their crops to his mill and together they powered Washington's army in their battle against the British.
Now that mill, a place that witnessed the Revolution, is in danger. In 2022, a large vehicle rammed the side of the mill, endangering its structural stability. Vandals have spray-painted this American treasure.
With America's 250th anniversary in 2026, the Friends of Col. John Taylor's Grist Mill, a registered non-profit want to help stabilize and interpret the mill building and surrounding landscape (the Taylor's Mill Historic District).
This mill tells the story of Hunterdon County, New Jersey, and America!
